Want to Transfer Schools and Study in Europe? Here’s How to Ensure a Smooth Transition

There are a number of reasons that students choose to transfer to Webster Geneva Campus from other institutions. Many are attracted by the small class sizes and personalized learning experience. Others are seeking out the professional opportunities available to students and graduates in Switzerland.

Whatever the reason, Webster Geneva Campus is committed to making the transition as smooth as possible for transfer students, and welcomes dozens of new students every semester. In fact, the new bachelor student community at Webster is made up of 30% transfer students each year.

Read on to find out some of the ways that Webster helps transfer students settle in and make the most of their time at university.

Webster Accepts Transfer Credits from Many Other Institutions

Many students are reluctant to transfer from their current institution because they do not want to lose the credits that they’ve already gained or delay their graduation. Fortunately, students transferring to Webster Geneva Campus will be able to transfer many credits that they’ve gained at another accredited university and put these towards their bachelor degree in Switzerland

As an American university in Switzerland, Webster accepts transfer credits from a number of universities across Europe and North America. Students can also transfer advanced standing credits from their prior secondary school program, if they pursued a 13th year of study (as with diplomas like the International Baccalaureate, A Levels, Swiss Maturite or French bacc).  Webster also recognizes Advanced Placement (AP) exams completed. This means that students can often graduate within a shorter time frame.

Transfer at Almost Any Time with Rolling Admissions

For most of its programs, Webster Geneva Campus offers five different entry dates for transfer students throughout the year. As well as this, students can choose between half-semester (8-week) and full-semester (16-week) courses, and summer courses. This means that students will have more flexibility when transferring to Webster, and that they don’t need to worry about application deadlines when applying.

Live in University Housing When You Study in Switzerland

Webster Geneva Campus will help make sure that you have a safe space to call home if you transfer to study in Europe. All transfer students can choose to live in university housing with other students. The Living and Learning Center on campus offers easy access to the university and the city. There are also other accommodation options off campus that are available, such as Les Berges du Rhône near to the river, which is close to city shops, restaurants, and parks.

Explore the City and Form Friendships Through Student Community Events and Clubs

Since one third of new bachelor students at Webster Geneva Campus are transfer students, it’s easy to form friendships with other transfer students. In addition, the student community organizes various events and activities for students to connect with one another and explore the city.

You could join an extra-curricular club such as football, chess, music or Webster’s Humanitarian Association. Thanks to its relatively small size, Webster Geneva Campus has an intimate, community-like feel!

Financial Aid and Scholarships

For many transfer students, financial concerns can be especially pressing. Fortunately, there are a number of scholarships and financial aid options for students who want to attend Webster Geneva Campus. There are plenty of scholarship options specifically for transfer students, as well as other financial aid options.
